Chloe Hennessee is a 16-year-old award winning singer-songwriter from New York City. In the fall of 2017, Chloe won the NYC Teen Songwriting Contest sponsored by Guitar Mash and the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment. She then performed her winning song, "Awake," at City Winery NYC - backed up by Mark Stewart and the incredible Guitar Mash House Band. In the spring of 2018, Chloe also won the Teen Division of the New England Songwriting Competition sponsored by Eventide Theatre Co. and performed at the Finalist Showcase in Cape Cod, MA. In early 2018, Chloe recorded, “Awake,” at Power Station Berklee NYC. Then in the fall of 2018, she recorded a 7-song album of original music titled, "Ups & Downs." This latest effort was produced by Wayne Silver and recorded at The Ice Plant Studio in Long Island City, NY. "Ups & Downs" was released in March, 2019.
Chloe began writing poetry as a small child. Once she picked up a guitar at the age of 8, she immediately began transforming her poetry into songs. In 2013 (when Chloe was 11), she recorded her first EP, which consists of original songs written between the ages of 8 and 11. This debut EP was recorded in the home studio of musician and songwriter, Colin McGrath.
Currently, Chloe is in talks with an independent film maker regarding the use of her song, “Awake," in her film titled, "Love, Music, Shelter." Chloe may also appear in the film.
